My fiancé and I are getting married in about a year. When would be the best time to order my wedding dress?
Thank you for asking such a great question! We find at The Bridal Connection that a yearlong engagement is very common. A lot of people don’t know this, but many wedding gowns are not actually sewn until they are ordered. Because of this, most of our designers have a 12-20 week waiting period for a gown to ship from their warehouses. Add another 10+ days for shipping, receiving, and doing a steam and press to make your gown perfect. Your alterations will also need to be scheduled at least 6-8 weeks before your wedding. Sometimes gowns are ordered in custom lengths, which can add another 5-7 weeks to the waiting period. If you would like to order a wedding gown, we recommend allowing at least 6-8 months before your wedding when placing your order. If you have a shorter time frame, don’t worry! We can still help you at The Bridal Connection by showing you gowns that can be ordered through priority programs, and we are happy to sell you the perfect gown off the rack as well. I hope this answered your question!
